The Story

Launching Orbital:

Space Travel is a prime example of clothing empowering humans. A portable survival system, spacesuits are complex and highly technical garments. As Nicholas de Monchaux explains in "Spacesuit: Fashioning Apollo", Playtex's lingerie seamstresses were the only sewers with the required precision to manufacture them. In the 1960s, the space race craze inspired fashion through the use of new materials and futuristic silhouettes. In recent times, Prada collaborated with Axiom space to design the new suits for the return to the moon in NASA's Artemis III mission. The suit is modular and adaptable but retains that quintessential astronaut look we know and associate with interstellar exploration.

Cycling is an efficient, cheap, environmentally friendly and good-for-your-health way to get around. Small annoyances like getting trousers caught in chains, cold faces, and getting a sweat on discourage young people from commuting by bike. There is no reason why clothes can't be exciting and highly practical. Orbital seeks to bridge that gap between fashion and function, making your everyday feel like an adventure.
